This hike takes us into the high moorland of the Peak District, walking a circular route that reaches Bleaklow Head and Higher Shelf Stones. These are some of the higher points in Derbyshire, and the landscape here is open, exposed and classic Peak District terrain, with peat moorland, rocky ridges, and wide-ranging views. The route is well known locally for being a proper day walk and is rated as challenging due to its length and uneven ground.
